We put in metal mesh to stop the rocks from the roof of the tunnel from falling and hitting the trains when they’re traveling through.Also installation and refurbishment of new lights as well as old lights running throughout Sandilands Tunnel.

Worked on various projects with J. Murphy & Sons Limited as a contractor. The highlight for me has got to be the very high paced and prestigious GOB Project (Gospel Oak to Barking). Which I took part in ensuring safe works to be undertaken under my supervision. From Piling, OHLE (Overhead Line Equipment), Track renewals, Drainage, Surveying, Platforms Extension and many more.Once that project was finished on May 2018, a small team carried out snagging works on other various sites which I was also taking part in.Also involved in works undertaken to refurbish Whiteball Tunnel in Taunton. Very difficult task however successfully pulled through in the end. Piling works undertaken in Reading for a few months. Smooth project which saw multiple piles being installed.

Where it all began. A phenomenal experience and an even better education leading up towards getting my first job once I successfully achieved my level 2 & level 3 NVQ in railway engineering through what I’d like to call “A stepping stone into a successful life ahead” of an apprenticeship. This Apprentership scheme helped me learn the fundamentals and basics of the railway infrastructure from Renewals, Signals, Pipe-works, Safety Critical and General Labour work. It was a fantastic opportunity that gave me the kick start and surely helped me develop into the being in the position that I am in today.
