In 2005, Thabo completed a BSc Honours in Computer Science and an MSc in Electrical and Information Engineering specializing in Telecommunications at the University of the Witwatersrand. He also studied and completed his MBA from the Gordon institute of Business Science in December 2011.He went on to leverage his technical skills in a telecommunications engineering role for the South African National Telco operator, Telkom, in the period between 2006 and 2008. He contributed towards the development of Telkom's Next Generation Network (NGN) Architecture and various products including Telkom’s Hosted Contact Centre Services. In January 2008 he joined one of the largest companies in South Africa and a global multinational brewer in South African Breweries (SABMiller) where he quickly rose through the ranks to lead the Technology Procurement function for South Africa by 2009. In 2015, he became responsible for Technology Procurement across SABMiller's Africa Operations including a portfolio of 17 countries across the continent. Shortly thereafter SABMiller was acquired by ABInbev in one of the world’s largest corporate acquisitions and Thabo successfully transitioned into the new organisation taking on the role of Indirects Procurement Director for Africa Operations in Early 2017. In this role Thabo successfully led and managed Africa Procurement Operations for all of ABInbev's Non-Production Spend & Capital Expenditure including services such as Technology, Facilities, Professional Services, Travel, Financial Services and HR & Corporate Affairs. In June 2018, he was appointed as the Director of Procurement Marketing Operations as well as a Non-Executive Board Member of Coleus (ABInbev's Crowns Manufacturing Business). In November 2018, he decided to pursue his entrepreneurial interests and now runs various businesses in the Property, Technology, and Transport industries. He also continues to consult as a Senior Procurement and Technology Procurement consultant.He is a highly proficient Cost Management professional, with a love for leading and winning with teams, who has delivered large scale multinational cost optimisation programs always underpinned with a Total Cost of Ownership mindset and aimed at ensuring sustainable value delivery.
