My name is Tadd Backus and I currently work as a Modeling and Simulation Analyst for the United States Air Force. I started in this role in the fall of 2019. My responsibilities include working with customers on providing information that they need to perform their jobs, designing and running large system of system simulations and analyzing the results, and creating new methodologies to create and visualize data. I received my Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 2019 where I focused on propulsion and jet engine design. In April 2022 I enrolled in the Master of Science in Data Science program at Southern Methodist University where I expect to graduate in December 2023. As I have progressed as a Data Scientist, I have enjoyed exploring datasets as to assure that I use the best machine learning algorithms possible, and visualizing the data in a way that is both clear and effective. In my free time I enjoy snowboarding, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, or relaxing with my partner and our dog, Willow, and cat, Moose.
