I started my shipping career as a Deck Cadet from 1980. Worked with Singapore Island Line and Timur Carrier during my initial years and joined OOCL in 1991. I left the sea life as a Master Mariner in Oct 2000 and joined OOCL Singapore Private Limited (OSPL) as an Assistant Manager looking after the Feeder Network covering South East Asia, Sub-con and Persian Gulf. By 2005, I headed the OSPL Operation Department, overseeing the Feeder Network, Transshipment, Equipment and local Marine Operation Team including local operation contracting. On Dec 2007, I was appointed as OOCL owner's representative to set-up office network in Iran. In Jan 2010, I was appointed as OOCL United Emirates LLC as Regional Operation Director. Scope of responsibility include all Middle East operation and managing the OOCL businesses under agency offices of Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iran. In addition, set-up 3 additional agency offices for OOCL businesses, expanding into Iraq, Jordan and Yemen. On Dec 2011, I was assigned as Managing Director to head and manage OOCL Pakistan office businesses, both Liner and Logistics. On Dec 2014, I was assigned as Managing Director to head and manage OOCL India liner businesses. On Nov 2017, I was assigned to head OOCL HQ Marine Operation/Corporate Operation, overseeing the fleet operation, both own and charter vessels. Scope of work is to manage Fleet Operation, Scheduling, Planning and Stowage and DG Logistics, which I hold the responsibility until 2 Nov 2022. On 3 Nov 2022, retired from OOCL Limited and continued as Consultant until 1 May 2023.On 9 May 2023, started as Consultant for SeaLead Shipping Pte. Ltd. until now.
