I'm Thaddeus Tan, a 17-year-old student at Nanyang Junior College, where I'm studying a mix of subjects in both the humanities and sciences: Physics, Mathematics, History, and Economics. I have a deep interest in public policy and community service, which drives me to serve within my school and in the wider community.During my time in secondary school, I developed a strong passion for technology and robotics. I'm grateful to have achieved a few milestones, such as winning the championship in the IDE Series 2023 Sumobot Category and earning the IDE 2021 Design Award for my team's Safe Entry Gantry System, which we developed during the COVID-19 pandemic. These experiences led to an opportunity to serve as a robotics instructor for the competition’s organiser, where I could further apply and share my skills.Beyond robotics, I am committed to community building. I actively volunteer with MacPherson Grassroots Organisations, including the MacPherson Youth Network and the MacPherson Racial and Religious Harmony Circle. I also contribute to the National Youth Council's #TechHacksYouth Panel for Online Safety.I try to live by principles of integrity, empathy, and diligence, and I’m always eager to learn and grow.   I worked at Nullspace as an STEM Education Intern from December 2023 to January 2024. I eventually joined them as a part-time STEM educator. I teach students ages 9-16 on the fundamentals of computing programming and robotics using the platform called Lego Mindstorms Spike Prime.
