Ever since I started my journey in Canada as an international student last year, I have learned a few key lessons, which include developing interpersonal skills, getting involved in the local events, always asking questions, and keeping an optimistic perspective. As an accounting student, I’ve utilized my organizational and analytical skills and detail-oriented approach for the preparation of key financial statements and data entry, upgraded my technical capabilities to include proficiency in Advanced Excel and Sage accounting, and enhanced my oral and written communication skills through my elective courses. My experience as the CPA Ontario First-Year Representative taught me that my career is more than just learning in the classroom and enabled me to build and maintain meaningful relationships with the rest of the PSAP community and accounting professionals. When I’m not juggling school and work, I love to meet people, exploring this beautiful (although a little cold) country, practicing the art of meditation, and watching Formula 1 races.
