People dream about living abroad. This was my dream, and I made It happen. I remember growing up and having my favorite toys around. None of them was as special as my grandmother's globe. I remember spending hours carefully looking at it, asking endless questions about all those countries. The feeling that the world is enormous was the most remarkable I had at that age. I would have never thought my grandmother’s globe would impact my life so much. Going to University was an important chapter for me and learning about different places was always a goal of mine, which lead me to study Foreign Affairs (International Relations). Since then, every choice I make is a way of walking towards a broader view of the world and its cultures.As a tennis player since I was 11 years old, the passion for the game has not only allowed me to have a healthy and more enjoyable life, but also to get to meet many people. Tennis has also been responsible for teaching me many lessons. Fight for every ball/opportunity, believe in yourself and trust the process. A tennis match is composed by points; games and sets. As a tennis player, you learn to have short goals to achieve your long goals. Just like in life, every step you take matters and every decision counts. You are constantly making choices. One of these choices brought me to Canada. I experienced it first as an English student in Toronto, while I was an undergraduate. The second time, I was preparing for an English certification and decided to experience living abroad, with Vancouver as my destination. The experience was so impactful that I decided to return to Canada to study Business as a way to develop and advance my career. After graduating in Business Administration – Marketing, I worked for almost four years at a study abroad agency based in Toronto recruiting international students to Canada. Helping others achieve their goals and dreams while using my own experience and knowledge changed my life. A few years later I went back to this same industry, but now I was working for a University. A different side of the business, but still having the same role and passion to help those who wanted to study and live in Canada.Unfortunately the pandemic has drastically changed this industry, as well as some recent changes announced by the Canadian Government. For me, personally, this new scenario was taken as an important sign to explore other opportunities.Now, I am a Canadian citizen. My globe became so much smaller - everywhere and everything is reachable.
