MARCH’s mission is to educate, motivate, and empower citizens to recognize and fight for their basic civil rights, raise a tolerant open Lebanese society in order to foster diversity and equality and reach a genuine reconciliation among the various communities. In its current strategy and projects, March is currently focusing on fighting for the right to freedom of expression (and fighting censorship), women’s rights, and diversity and conflict resolution activities.Among March projects you have the Museum of Censorship http://www.censorshiplebanon.org/which aims to document any censored work in Lebanon from the 50's till now from music to books and plays and so on

The programme I am working on is funded by the European Union. It aims to provide technical assistance and capacity building to Decision Makers in 8 Countries in the Southern Mediterranean Region. It also encompasses a practical dimension as designated countries are asked to work on pilot project based on multi-sectorial partnership. It has also allowed me to work with different levels of stakeholders from governments to private sector to civil society.The EU MENA Programme we are currently running has a regional scope. We deal with government officials ( from Ministries, police ..), representatives of the private sector and the civil society. We organize twice a year, regional workshops at Brussels where beneficiary countries representatives meet to discuss the progress achieved regarding their pilot project at the country level. We also travel to each of these countries, holding national capacity building workshops aiming to promote multi-sectorial and multi-disciplinary partnerships and change in legislation through advocacy work and campaigning. In my position as Communication Officer, I do work on the visibility of our projects through various tools (newsletter, social media, reports and events, media monitoring), I liaise with our partners on different and relevant issues and matters. I develop dissemination and communication material in coordination with the designer or printing house (banners, brochure…).I am involved in the planning and organization of our regional and national events and workshop (logistical, administrative and technical issues). I handle the translation (Arabic – English – French) and recently I am advising beneficiary countries on their Pilot Projects Communication Strategies and Plans and campaigns. I also contributed to developing advocacy action plans in the respective countries. and in the latest phase I worked alongside with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to devising an Internal Review Tool for projects and activities.
