Prime task was to lead new building and retrofit projects. In addition, undertake studies and run projects as appropriate within my discipline Machinery & Systems.For new building Projects: - Soul responsibility for delivering the project within the budget, time frame and in accordance with the specification.- Heading interdisciplinary teams with experts.- Responsible for all Flag and Class related issue- Set up site team and enabling them to do a good follow up during construction- Reporting to project owner, and keep other stake holders informed all the time For retrofit projects:- Undertake feasibility study (e.g. Pilot project such as a full scale retrofit of an Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS) on MV Tarago. - Evaluation of makers & technologies, and selection of maker- Negotiation of specification and price, with the selected maker, as well as with dry docking yard.- Budgeting for the entire project, plan approval, interaction with Class, & Administration- Follow up during installation and commissioning.

Headed a team of engineers developing and testing a new ballast water treatment system. Our team's prime task was to work closely with the inventor in Cape Town (South Africa) to test and obtain all necessary approvals and certifications for the product.Main responsibilities:- Finalise and approve the design, and the product scope.- Carry out necessary shipboard tests, and take part in all R&D activities. - Advise and assist the technology provider in obtaining all IMO approvals.- Select sub-contractors for third party equipment.- Lead Class approval/Type approval processes.

Lysaker

In charge for machinery and ship systems related issues for new buildings. Main responsibilities:- Discipline lead in projects.- Key-resource during building specification work, maker selection and plan approval.- Visiting yards in the Far East together with project team for contractual negotiations..- Following up subcontractors.

Bergen Area, Norway

Worked partly as discipline leader for machinery & ship systems and partly as Non-Exclusive surveyor for classification societies (Class NK and ABS).Main responsibilities:- Discipline lead, developing P&ID’s for Class and owner's approval.- Project co-ordination towards Class, Flag, vendors & yards.- Carry out surveys on behalf of ABS and Class NK in order to certify materials, ship machinery and equipment (e.g.at FRAMO, Rolls-Royce etc)

Bergen Area, Norway

Senior project engineer at Organic power, a company developing Energy recovery plants. The technology was based on gasification from house holding waste and biomass.

Worked as consultant for ship design and our customers were mainly shipyards along the west coast of Norway. The undertaken tasks were mainly related to design of machinery and piping for new building at these yards.

Florø Norway

Worked in the design department for machinery and piping, mainly working with piping arrangements for engine room and cargo deck for chemical tankers.
