Thami has 23 years post graduation experience in the civil and water/wastewater engineering sector; 18 years (Southern Africa) and 5 years (UK) work experience. He has a wide range of engineering skills that cover technical, contract administration, management planning, training and commercial awareness in roles undertaken as Senior/Principal Engineer, Project Manager and Design Lead. Has extensive technical design experience on wastewater systems, hydraulics and sanitation. He has a good knowledge and appreciation of the financial and commercial management of projects having worked extensively with Scottish Water’s framework contracts under the NEC3 Contract and also very good experience with the FIDIC Conditions of Contract. He possesses excellent knowledge and experience of the feasibility to detailed design stages of a project life-cycle, with a proven track record of project planning, delivery and management, quality assurance and client relationships of major water and wastewater projects. He has acquired admirable communication and presentation skills having presented research and technical papers at the United Nations in New York, USA and at the World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden. He has proven ability to exercise independent engineering judgment and does not shy away from taking responsibilities. He is a logical thinker with strategic and pragmatic analytical skills and has an innovative, imaginative and creative approach to problem solving. Is equally comfortable applying logic, reason and lateral thinking to tasks and challenges.
