Focal person to devise strategies for tracing adolescent girls as research subjects in the study including liaising with families and traditional leadership. Manages study implementation, monitor quality and compliance to study protocol, as well as monitor project timelines and agreed deliverables. Liaise with Ministry of Education to routinely collect attendance data in schools, digitization and archival of the same. Manage the budget in excess of US $3 million. Manages relationships within the consortium, and direct liaison with World Bank Washington DC. Supervise key staff in the project; field manager, medical supervisor and data management team, support staff and a research team in excess of 40 people.

    Worked in a consortium of 6 international partners (Stop AIDS Now, Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), MOH, SafAIDS, Swaziland Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS SWANEPHA, South African Centre for Mathematical Modeling (SACEEMA) and the Global network of People Living with HIV/AIDS, (GNP plus) implementing the MaxART Project.Conducted situational analysis of the national HIV response programme to diagnose barriers in the uptake of HIV services from demand creation for HIV services,linkage to care to treatment. Crafted research questions for the study focus, developed the study protocol and managed the ethical review application process. Trained as an HIV counselor and provide pre-test counseling, post-test counseling as well as empower HIV negative people to remain HIV free. Conducted 25 months fieldwork and 8-month was clinic ethnography. Conducted interviews with treatment defaulters to understand reason for missed appointments; daily converstions with health workers to understand perspective for not linking to care or dropping out of care, made observations of clinic processes that could deter HIV patients from linking and not staying in care, non uptake of HIV treatment and failure to adhere to treatment. Disseminated findings of the study to local on a bi-annual basis and inform interventions on an on-going basis. Presented research work in 6 international conferences (Treatment as Prevention, ICASA, HEARD, ASHH, ECAS). Doctoral thesis written on this work and published.

    Provide overall management of the Neighborhood Care Points (NCP) -a community safety net project for OVC after the death parents. Managed 12 implementing NGOs (sub-grantees) and 4 Government departments to implement project. Led the expansion of NCP concept from mere feeding centres to centres of comprehensive care services and development for children in communities. Part of the technical group that defined the minimum standards for OVCs (which became ECCD, health, psychosocial, lifeskills and food, child rights and protection, registration of vital statistics) at community level. Coordinate the psychosocial support agenda for OVC agenda and caregivers for OVC including developing manuals and conduct training caregivers. Monitor partner performance in meeting project commitments (resources and targets). Manage birth, marriage and death registration project with BMD Department at Home Affaris Ministry to bring civil registration services to children at grassroots. Work with the Department of Social Development to develop a database of abuse cases in Swaziland. Led procurement of supplies for the OVC project, monitor that distribution is to eligible OVC and use. M&E focal person for child protection department within the organization.Disaster Risk Reduction CoordinationLead the process for emergency planning and preparedness within UNICEF and a liaison to coordinate with other UN agencies. Coordinate UNICEF response in case of a disaster, and ensure child protection issues are incorporated in joint UN emergency preparedness and contingency planning. Prepare weekly situation reports (SitReps) and contribute in preparation of resource mobilization for emergencies i.e. Flash Appeals. A core member of vulnerability committee and conduct hazard mapping and profiling to update annual Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan, and the Early Warning Early Action website.
