Stage 2 and Payload Avionics Integration Responsible Engineer

MOXIE is an instrument on the Mars 2020 Spacecraft designed to produce oxygen on Mars using a Solid Oxide Electrolysis (SOXE) unit. The MOXIE laboratory supports the design, development and implementation of the SOXE units. -Supported instrument development effort that aims to generate molecular oxygen from the mostly carbon dioxide atmosphere on Mars. This experiment will help pave the way for human exploration for Mars by maturing technologies that use In- Situ resources to generate fuel and consumable oxygen.- Performed data reduction, and generate reports for project management review. -Built and programmed Carbon Dioxide Collection Task panel with data acquisition boards using LabVIEW- Conducted scientific experiments on CCT with pure CO2 and air, analyzed data and documented results for research grant-Optimizing Carbon Dioxide Collection (CCT) Task for future Mars In-Situ Resource Utilization (IRSU) technology development- Assisted Mars 2020 Cruise Stage EGSE unit rack build and supervised build book creation- Executed quality assurance tasks on the Mars 2020 Cruise Stage EGSE unit rack to ensure system quality and on time delivery- Completed full life cycle development of flight hardware EGSE for critical MOXIE’s flight electronic check outs deadline

- Supervised project leads for grants, launch deadline and general function of the rocket lab- Conduct tours to K-12 students to introduce them to engineering- Designed electrical schematics using Visio and mentored team member to integrate the electronic, wiring and operate the electrical ground support equipment hardware and software- Designed, built and programmed EGSE box to provide power, control the pneumatic valves and read sensor using LabVIEW- Supported structure lead in manufacturing vehicle airframe and engine chamber

- Manufactured engine chamber using silica phenolic wet layup with a team of 10 people- Engaged with structure team in manufacture and assembled rocket skins and fins and ensured parachute deployment efficiency with recovery team- Integrated the wiring, connectorzied flight sensors, and payload for the rocket with avionics team and ensured power efficiency for data logging and saving systems electronics

- Managed four senior design projects in design and simulations of robot movement and structure in Solidworks- Led four projects in printed circuit board (PCB) routing in Eagle CAD and soldered surface mount components and met deadline

- Manufactured two solid propellant rockets air frame for the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition- Designed flow diagram and electrical schematic for recovery electronic and GPS system- Programmed flight computer that capable of deploying parachute at any desired altitude while providing us with live telemetry
