I am a Master of Biotechnology graduate with a specialisation in Microbiology from RMIT University, and a keen interest in Microbiology. I have recently completed five months at Agriculture Victoria, where I worked with research scientists on developing and refining high-throughput protoplast transfections in canola. I have also gained valuable experience in cytogenetics, clinical genetics, and medical microbiology through internships at Institute of Genetics, Vijaya Diagnostics and Care Hospitals.During my term at Agriculture Victoria, I contributed significantly to the development of a robust research design by identifying and resolving several bottlenecks involved in the existing protocol, low-throughput transfections, and designing a new one. I also played a key role in the optimization and validation of the transfection method, which resulted in improved efficiency and accuracy. I applied my skills in DNA isolation, biochemistry, and molecular microbiology to perform various experiments and analyses, and collaborated with the team to prepare and present the findings and recommendations. I am passionate about applying science to solve real-world problems and enhance the quality of life.
