Thanos Kontogiannis is a PhD candidate at the Aerospace Engineering Faculty in the Department of Aerospace Structures and Materials and a member of the ISP group and PYTHIA team. He holds a mechanical engineering diploma with a specialization in Applied Mechanics. His research and interests focus on bridging the gap between data science and artificial intelligence with engineering systems, monitoring and controlling them to manage their health during deployment. He believes in preventative actions facilitated through prognostics rather than reactive ones to the already manifested issues.Hint: Don’t get him started talking about coffee or motorcycles; he won’t stop.
