Work with providers in the emergency department, and aid with documentation and completion of patients' electronic medical charts through the EPIC system, allowing providers to spend more time interacting and providing care for each patient. Opportunity to shadow the providers, and learn more about the patient-provider interaction, as well as gain experience in working in a clinical setting.

Lead researcher for a group research project with two other co-investigators, researching on the differences between laptop and handwritten note-taking and their relationship with mindfulness. As lead researcher, I organize research meetings to teach co-investigators about the process of conducting and presenting research, as well as to provide tasks for each member to accomplish and to check on the progress of data collection. Undergraduate students at the university were recruited to participate in the study. Data collection included instructing students to take notes while watching a video and to take several assessments to identify any differences between each note-taking condition and if there are any relationship with mindfulness. Scores of each assessment were gathered and entered into a statistical data analysis software, SPSS. Review of primary and secondary literature was performed in order to understand the nature of the study. After completion of the study, project was presented as a poster at the Midwestern Psychological Association conference in Chicago, IL.

Group research study analyzing the effects of adolescent methamphetamine exposure on anxiety-like behavior and corticosterone levels in mice. Conducted behavioral tests to observe behaviors of 2 groups of mice. Performed laboratory techniques to analyze levels of corticosterone. Performed extensive reading of primary literature. Second author of manuscript that was submitted and published by Neuroscience Letters. Research poster presented at Midwestern Psychological Association conference in Chicago, IL (May, 2017) and Midbrains conference held at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN (Nov 2016).
