About Thara Thomas. M
I am an independent artist + design consultant based in Bangalore. As a graphic artist / designer, I work on projects which require an illustrative approach. I develop designs, branding, packaging for clients. As a muralist, the connection I make with the space dictates my art. My approach to art has always been to explore the relationship of chosen site and context, artist and community. In the process of locating the context for my work through conversations, I try to learn about the history, the socio political and cultural markers that will lead to a concept relevant to the space and the community. Exploring the concept of aspiration and conflict interests me. My association, as a designer and illustrator, with clients in the social sector is driven mostly by my interest in understanding the working of a city and its people.
