Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment Monitoring network traffic, and activity, capacity and usage to ensure continued integrity and optimal network performance Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls Researching, analysing, evaluating and monitoring network infrastructure to ensure networks are configured to operate at optimal performance Report network operation status based on project management and priority information Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
