During my internship, I had the opportunity to work within various units of the Inland Aquatic Resources and Aquaculture Division (IARAD) at NARA. Specifically, I was involved in the Aquaculture Research Center (ARC), Water Quality Laboratory, Microbiology Laboratory and PCR Laboratory.My internship includes task related to various aspects of aquarium management and maintenence, gaining hands on experience in fish identification, fish breeding, hatchery management, water quality management, disease management and fish feeding and live feed culture.Moreover, I have had the opportunity to gain knowledge on microbial cultivation, antibiotics testing and PCR technology for disease identification.

During my internship, I was involved in various aspects of aquarium management and maintenance, gaining hands on experience in fish identification, fish breeding, hatchery management, water quality management and disease management.Moreover, I have had the opportunity to gain knowledge on freshwater endemic fish species in Sri Lanka, acquiring insight into endemic fish identification, breeding practices and knowledge on their habitat requirements.
