Mr. Jason Blank is owner of The Texas Flute Guild, the only specialty flute shop in or around (or even close to) Houston. A sought after performer and pedagogue. A student of Jeffrey Khaner and Jean Larson, Mr. Blank has a Bachelor of Music from Southern Methodist University, and he has participated in masterclasses for Julius Baker, Jeanne Baxtresser, and Gary Schocker. He has performed concertos with the Delaware Symphony, the Texas A&M Orchestra, and the Wilmington Orchestra, as well as The Meadows Symphony Orchestra. He was one of only two freshmen in Southern Methodist’s history to win the school concerto competition as a freshman. Having performed with Voices of Change, a new music society in Dallas, the Irving Symphony Orchestra, and the Brazos Valley Symphony, he served a summer in Graz, Austria, playing in the orchestra for the Graz vocal festival. He has performed with the Avanti quintet in Dallas and was a founding member of The Houston Wind Quintet. Mr. Blank is also in demand as a clinician throughout North America, formerly as an artist for the Wm. S. Haynes Company and now with his association with Bernhard Hammig. He has been a guest artist for Sam Houston State University, The Oklahoma Flute Society, The Louisiana Flute Society, The Florida Flute Festival, The Houston Flute Club, The Coastal Bend Flute Festival, The National Flute Association, as well as a countless classes and lectures at Universities.
