As Chief Architect, I spearheaded the design and implementation of a comprehensive J2EE Portal framework, grounded in cloud computing principles and compliant with JSR286 standards. Leveraging open-source technologies, I led a team of five skilled developers to create the OMNI Portlet—a cost-effective cloud solution specifically designed for startups with limited budgets. This platform facilitated the development of portlet applications across 17 vertical solutions, addressing the varied needs of emerging businesses.I also managed a larger team of 15 members in the development of portlet applications for diverse industries. By gathering user requirements and applying Object-Oriented Design (OOD) techniques with UML diagrams, we engineered these applications using a suite of Java technologies, including Servlets, JavaServer Pages, UI components, Tag Libraries, Hibernate, Jasper/iReport, ActiveMQ, Jitterbit, and Axis2.Our innovative solutions catered to a wide range of industries, such as Guest Management, Educational Institutes/Alumni Portals, Membership Systems, Enterprise Information Portals, E-Commerce, Real Estate, NGOs/NPOs, Mobile Advertising, SME-focused ERP, Portal-integrated Digital Signage, and GST-enabled Accounting systems. Recruited to lead the proposal and development of a robust J2EE framework for the Integrated Computerized Education Management System (ICEMS), a comprehensive ERP solution for universities, utilizing Oracle technologies such as Developer 2000 and Oracle Reports. As Project Leader, I directed a dynamic team of five in developing web-accessible student modules, while also providing critical support by managing the technical help desk for two campuses and 12 call centers at Multimedia University.In this role, I gathered user requirements, applied Object-Oriented Design (OOD) techniques with UML diagrams, and implemented the system using a range of Java technologies, including JavaServer Pages, JavaServer Faces, UI components, Tag Libraries, Servlets, Beans, Enterprise JavaBeans, Java Messaging services, and Java Transaction services. The development process involved tools like JDeveloper 10G for J2EE, Oracle Database 10G, Visio for reverse engineering, Microsoft Project for project management, and TransformOnDemand from SOLONDE for ETL tasks.The core modules I focused on addressed key areas of education management, including Admission (application setup, online applications, and processing), Time Tabling (student/lecturer/course scheduling using Operational Research), Examination (scheduling, class evaluation, academic evaluation), Course Completion (Alpha to Beta, Beta to Gamma, Graduation), Student Activities (electronic voting, counseling), Student Hostel Administration, Invoicing, and the integration of student modules with financial systems like the Grant Accounting Management System (GAMS).

In a leadership capacity, I spearheaded the development of KALEIDOSCKOP, a Learning Content Management System (LCMS) tailored for universities and training centers, including the prominent Malaysian government organization, INTAN. I was instrumental in assembling and training a specialized team to implement international standards such as SCORM, AICC, and IMS, ensuring the product met stringent certification requirements. Collaborating closely with research and development teams in Malaysia and Singapore, I contributed innovative ideas that enhanced the product’s capabilities. Additionally, I coordinated resources with strategic partners to support their sales efforts.My role encompassed the engagement and leadership of all sales channels through comprehensive training, provisioning of tools, and effective communication of product and service benefits. The LCMS was implemented using a variety of web, FTP, email, and file servers, and I expertly utilized authoring tools such as Macromedia Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Swish, and ToolBook to enhance functionality and user experience.The LCMS was designed with distinct modules catering to various user roles, including Content Experts, Instructional Designers, Developers, Instructors, and Learners, providing a tailored and comprehensive learning experience for each stakeholder.As one of the company’s directors, I played a pivotal role in both the strategic and operational aspects of our initiatives. I played a pivotal role in the end-to-end development of the Multimedia Learning System (MMLS), an e-Learning platform initiated by the University. Conducting thorough system analysis based on user requirements, I led the planning, development, and implementation of MMLS. A key achievement was integrating MMLS with the institution’s ERP systems, enhancing communication and data flow between platforms.In developing MMLS, I placed significant emphasis on the Learning Management System (LMS) components. I focused on optimizing course management, enabling instructors to easily organize and administer their courses. I developed a robust question bank and an online self-test system to support interactive assessments. Additionally, I integrated Pedagogy Tools—including short notes, past exam papers, email, chat, and forums—to create a dynamic and collaborative online learning environment. My efforts also included building a reporting system to track student progress, ensuring MMLS effectively met educational objectives.The primary objective of this research project was to explore effective methods for leveraging the internet in education, with a goal of reducing face-to-face instructional time by 50%. Each module within MMLS featured dedicated access controls, catering to three major user roles: Lecturer, Student, and Administrator. My responsibilities included conducting research to propose creative strategies aimed at maximizing ROI for e-commerce websites. In collaboration with Hong Leong Bank, we successfully developed enterprise transaction processing software using Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) technology. The project also involved exploring and implementing diverse payment methods, including money orders, bank slips, and telephone bills.To enhance the UV Mall user experience, I developed several key modules that provided members with a wide range of functionalities. These included features for online advertising through free classifieds, sending electronic greeting cards for various occasions, and engaging in alumni and job-related activities. Members could easily search for and reconnect with old college friends, post job ads, and submit resumes for new opportunities across different companies.The project was executed using Oracle Web Application Server, with the PL/SQL cartridge, and interfaced with an Oracle Database.Key Modules Developed:1. Hired to lead the design and development of an e-commerce web application for an Internet Book Shop, utilizing Oracle Web Application Server with PL/SQL and Perl cartridges on a Sun Solaris platform. My role encompassed the entire development lifecycle, including coding, testing, debugging, and the successful implementation of the e-commerce solution.The project aimed to advance e-commerce initiatives in Malaysia by establishing an online platform for book sales. The client, Pustaka Union Sdn. Bhd. in Penang, Malaysia, was a wholesale book seller catering to a diverse customer base with a catalog of approximately 70,000 books.To enhance the customer experience, multiple payment options were integrated, including credit cards, demand drafts, and money orders. Additionally, administration modules were developed using Visual Basic with the Oracle OCI driver. Ensuring the security of sensitive data and transactions was a top priority, and the website was secured using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology.

I was engaged to design and implement a comprehensive software solution for the Real Estate sector, developing a sophisticated database application over an eight-month period using Visual Basic and Microsoft Access. This application adeptly managed customer information, project details, and various purchase and property documents.Under the expert guidance of Dr. Ramachandran from Anna University, I led the project through its entire development lifecycle—design, development, testing, and successful deployment. I designed key modules including token advance, agreement, installment, registration, property document, property sheet, and customer details.A notable achievement of this project was the significant enhancement of billing and reporting capabilities for staff. The system featured automated generation of postal letters on a weekly basis for customers with outstanding agreements or installment amounts, thereby streamlining communication and improving payment tracking.

As part of my Bachelor's degree at Sanco CFS, Chennai, I undertook a significant project with a team of two, developing a software solution for Container Freight Stations under the guidance of Dr. T. Kathirvalava Kumar. Utilizing Visual Basic and Microsoft Access, we created a comprehensive system to efficiently track information related to containers and cargo.The project, which spanned six months, included nine major modules: gate-pass entry, public notice reference, delivery order, bill of entry, boarding ticket, bill of CFS, customer details, CHA agent details, and steamer agent details.
