Get to know me:I'm a (non-practicing)CA-turned stay-at-home Mom-turned Chess coach/Entrepreneur. Chess has always been a part of my family. It all began back in the year 2000, when my son(age 4 at the time) showed an interest in the game. I wanted to do all that I could to support him. That's what first got me into Chess coaching. The more we learnt and practised, the more we fell in love with the game. He went to his first tournament at the age of 6. "I want to see how professional chess feels", he tells me. We had a few initial setbacks, sure. But my little boy had heart. He didn't give up. Neither did I. Together, we worked hard. The results began to reflect our efforts. Soon, to everyone's surprise, my little boy was winning at categories older than his age. More students began to sign up for coaching. By the age of 8, he was ranked the no.1 in Mumbai, being the winner of one of the city's largest tournaments- Bournvita. This was also where a lot of my other students won in other categories, and I joyfully received a 'Best Coach' award.From our humble beginnings, we are glad to have been able to share our love for this beautiful game with over 400 students so far.We knew even then, that Chess would remain a big part of my life, for the years to come. And it has.As they say, the rest is history...
