MSG Hand is the Army Reserve Guidance Counselor for the Raleigh, North Carolina MEPS. He has been in the Army Reserve for the last 23 years. He graduated High School from Chester, NY in 2002. He attended United States Army Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC and Civil Affairs, Advance Individual Training at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Liberty, NC.His previous ssignments include: Team Leader for the Army Physician Recruiting Team (South); Instructor at the Recruiting and Retention College; Professional Development NCO at USAREC HQ; Station Commander of the Staten Island Recruiting Center; Assistant Station Commander at Myrtle Beach, SC; Recruiter at Whiteville, NC and Middletown, NY; and Civil Affairs Team Sergeant and Specialist at the 411th Civil Affairs BN, Danbury, CT.MSG Hand’s awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Award), Army Commendation Medal with “V” device, Army Commendation Medal (6th Award), Army Achievement Medal (6th Award), AGCM (5th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Number 4), Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserves Medal with “M” Device and Silver Hourglass, Global War on Terror Service Ribbon, Iraqi Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Campaign Stars, Basic Army Instructor Badge, Driver/ Mechanics Badge (Wheeled), Combat Action Badge, Recruiter Gold Badge w/ 3 Sapphire Stars, Gold Recruiter Ring, Glen E. MSG Hand has completed his Baccalaureate Degree in World Religions and his Master’s Degree in Humanities at the American Military University. MSG Hand was the 1ST Brigade USAR NCO of the Year for 2017. In March of 2022 he was inducted into the 2nd Recruiting Brigade, Order of the Eagle.He is married to Anne-Marie since 2008.
