As the Zoo Director and Trustee of The Owls Trust, I oversee one of the most comprehensive collections of owls in the UK, including the only hand-reared Pel's Fishing Owl in the world. I have been working in the museums and institutions industry for over 28 years, and I am passionate about education, rehabilitation, and conservation of all owl species, both at home and abroad.I work closely with many other zoos and bird parks throughout the world, as well as with veterinary medicine, animal welfare, biodiversity, and environmental education experts. I also rescue and rehabilitate wild, injured birds of prey 365 days a year. In addition, I lead fundraising efforts and public outreach campaigns to generate a greater understanding and appreciation of one of our least understood birds, the owl. My goal is to inspire and empower people to protect and preserve our flora and fauna in today's rapidly changing world.
