You may think this makes him sound like a know it all, but really it showcases the fact that he goes deep on the things he cares about. As a developer I imagine Alex is a perfectionist--but not one that becomes immobilized because he can never reach perfect, rather he figures out the optimal way to build something and builds based off of this logical rationale.
