I am passionate about designing learning and performance solutions and have constantly looked for ways to foster transfer of learning, develop structure and provide tools to improve employee performance. I approach each situation holistically and value collaboration. My greatest strength is recognizing and capitalizing on the unique qualities in each person. I use these passions, approaches, values and strengths to create performance interventions from start to finish.If you want more, keep reading.I learned early on in my career that I am motivated by helping people succeed, beginning with my position as an elementary school teacher. That profession provided me with an incredible foundation in designing learning instruction, presentation strategies and monitoring student achievement to produce learning. I then held jobs where I worked with a variety of socio-economic and diverse ability populations. These positions allowed me to perfect my methods of chunking and breaking down information to assist each individual learn life skills.Then I officially found myself in the world of Training. I quickly mastered the coordination function of my job and turned my attention to addressing some of the larger organizational challenges: making knowledge-based compliance training relevant and engaging, improving the new employee onboarding processes, increasing learning transfer from instructor-led (in-person and virtual) training to performance, and helping the HR/TD team meet strategic goals.Now I'm using my formal education from BSU's school of Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning to improve performance at the organizational level through strategic thinking. To fuel my own expertise in creating solutions, I am constantly looking for ways to grow professionally so I participate in the local and national ATD, HRA, and ISPI Chapters.My enjoyment in finding solutions extends into my personal life. I love the physical challenge of hiking long distances or up steep terrain. I’ve spent a lot of time on my mountain bike trying to perfect my techniques so I don’t fall – no accidents yet. I sing 1st soprano in the Master Chorale and am constantly trying to blend my voice with those around me to create one harmonious sound. I take leadership roles in various organization and constantly bring in strategies to improve the functions of the association. Sometimes, I actually let my mind rest and relax by putting together jigsaw puzzles.I look forward to sharing solutions with you.
