Started as a lifeguard. My journey at the YMCA has led me through part and full time opportunities in aquatics management and leadership. Assisted in developing new and incumbent lifeguards by being both a Red Cross and YMCA lifeguard instructor, teaching safety classes throughout different branches and departments, and running in-service training. I.

For this service I provided advanced life support for patients as well as emergency vehicle operation. I managed 50 employees, scheduled and oversee 11 units daily across three offices. I maintain appropriate staffing levels by hiring ALS and BLS personnel. I assure vehicle and reserve supply stock as well as ensuring vehicles remain in top mechanical shape.

I teach Red Cross lifeguarding classes at multiple locations for both public classes as well as private classes to fulfill contracts for the company. We also hold classes for public and private companies to fulfill training needs in CPR, AED, First Aid and Oxygen Administration.

I have direct patient care in emergent situations as well as emergency vehicle operation. On scene, I perform patient assessment and stabilization prior to ambulance arrival. Assist in transport decision, triage and communication. I also orientate new crew members and assist them through the probationary period, including patient care and driver training.

Patient care, triage and transport are included in my responsibilities here. On scene transport decisions included on site treatment rooms, ambulance and helicopter flight.
