* Brought the Modern Data Stack to WFP, allowing my team to build robust, well-documented, well-tested infrastructure that lasted cycle to cycle. I led my team through our dbt project build and Prefect migration, and also championed the use of Hex.* Supported 10+ races during the 2022 primary and general elections with analytics and engineering, tracking key field metrics across multiple races and many voter contact tools and vendors. My work allowed our organizing, political, development, and operations team to understand our electoral impact and spending in a way they had never been able to before. * Led the analytics for WFP's novel Relational Postcard Program, by aggregating data across multiple sources to track program participants, prepared postcard lists for the vendor, and then modeled experiment participants' actions and resultant engagement. We partnered with Way to Win and Analyst Institute on an experiment, and the program ultimately won a GAIN IDEA award in 2022.

Sunrise hired me as their first Data Director at the beginning of to lead and execute their data vision and strategy. * I led a CRM migration from Action Network to EveryAction in three months flat, and within the next few months had shifted the overwhelming majority of Sunrise's organizers to use our data systems.* I built out Sunrise's data infrastructure for Sunrise School, our remote leadership training program, giving Sunrise staff data driven insight into their organizing for the first time ever. * I then went on to co-lead Sunrise's presidential and downballot targeting strategy and lead our electoral data work, which encompassed phones, texts, relational, and hand-written postcards. For the first time ever, Sunrise was able to accurately report the number of voters we reached across all our modes of organizing for our field work. * I brought the modern data tech stack to Sunrise, which primarily included building out Sunrise's dbt project. I incorporated software engineering best practices into our data program such as version control and testing to build robust, modular infrastructure.* Developed a novel model based on the “Orbit model” to measure movement power. Modeled exponentially decaying engagement points across multiple organizing tools in SQL. Also modeled a member’s power within a community by approximating the weight of their leadership roles within the movement. * I managed a team of 3-4 analysts and engineers, focusing on developing junior technical talent.
I was the first person in the country to gain access to the raw AVR data from the Secretary of State offices, and produced a novel method of comparing state reported AVR opt-out rates. I also worked on a short-term grant to research the jobs created by the Green New Deal and the demographics of the people who would have those jobs, focusing on race, gender, age, and geography.
