Risk and insurance consultant to Debswana and sister company operations. Responsible for the placement and management of all locally placed insurance covers. Management of global insurance covers for Debswana and Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTC B). Administration of Debswana’s captive, Sesiro Insurance Company. Highlights – Review and process reengineering of internal employee insurance claims processes e.g. statutory worker’s compensation as well as the associated change management.

Part of team responsible for insurance broking for mining and energy entities in Botswana. Accounts managed included Tati Nickel (Norilsk Nickel), BCL Limited (Norilsk Nickel), Debswana Diamond Company and Discovery Metals Metals. Involved in the placement of project insurance programs for 600MW Morupule B Powerstation Project, Morupule Mine Expansion Project and the Jwaneng Water Supply Upgrade Project. Responsibilities also included the oversight of day to day servicing of accounts and claims management. Highlights – Part of Aon Botswana Strategy 2010-2013 Team. Head of Process Re-engineering, one of the five levers of the strategy implementation plan.

Risk engineering and consulting to the mining industry. Responsible for Anglo Coal South Africa. Involved in setting up their Fire Standards. Member of their Fire Standards Committee. Responsible for Tati Nickel Mining Company and BCL Ltd both of which produce nickel/copper and are operated by Norilsk Nickel. Team member for work at De Beers Consolidated Mines, Debswana Diamond Company and Namdeb Diamond Corporation.Highlights – Appointed to Risk consultant position after seven months as Associate.

Apart from a rigorous training program which included supervisory skills, projects, presentation skills, benchmarking visits etc, I held appointments as Supervisor in both Loading & Hauling and Drilling & Blasting sections. At the time of leaving I was Foreman – Drilling and Blasting (Technical).Highlights – Initiation and compilation of blasting license training manual for the Training Department. Initiation and implementation of Technical Training sessions for Blasting Crew. Initiation of ‘5 Star Patterns’ drilling quality improvement program
