Working with junior and senior high students to help them grow a community that pushes one another closer to God.

I served 3 summers with E.M. I was part of a team that met with established connections in Atlanta, West Virgina, and Kentucky. Along with our community partners we brought in mission minded groups from all over U.S. and Canada to work alongside the communitty to show God's love. My main role was construction coordinator, planning work projects. However, I also worked some as a trip coordinator, planning logistics for lodging, food, the like. Each week I was responsible for helping with the cooking, worship, and daily debriefing and speaking. This job was busy, but allowed me to grow in my ability to put things in God's hands. I learned to see everyone as God sees them, and not just see them for how their homes compared to mine. We ministered to more than just a leaky roof, we used the need as a way to show God's love.

I helped maintain the 5-7th grade afterschool program. We had homework time, snack time, and rec time. I checked in and helped students with homework. I was able to get to know them and care for them, despite them not having many caring adults in their lives.
