I have never experienced a part of my life that I couldn't make fun of. Or share on the air. Most recently as the ring-leader of “The Bower Show” a sports talk show on WUCS FM in Hartford, CT. The Bower Show worked with a unique spin on sports talk radio: sports from the sports fan perspective. Non-pretentious, non-blowhardy. It’s a signature of Bower’s 20 year on-air history: talking “with” his listeners, not “at” them. Early successes came in rock radio at KRZR 103.7 “The Wild Hare” in Fresno, CA where my show “The Meat Shop” quickly developed into one of the most popular radio shows in the Central Valley. My success propelled KRZR to it’s dominance in the market as the premiere rock station. The launch of “The Meat Shop” in at WTKX in Pensacola, FL came with one of the best show launch stunts in radio in the early 2000’s. Following a two-and-a-half year stint on the “Brand X Morning Show” at KCXX “X1039” in San Bernardino, CA - Bower was lured away to host Afternoons on Sirius Satellite Radio’s “Maxim Radio”. That is where Bower developed his passion for stand-up comedy cutting his teeth in clubs like Caroline’s and Gotham Comedy Club and sharing the stage with the likes of Dane Cook and SNL’s Darryl Hammond. The Sirius New York City studios were Bower’s home for achieving National and International success anchoring an entire channel programmed around - and featuring staff contributions from - the famous Maxim Magazine brand.As radio - and his family - are Bower’s first loves, his stand-up comedy schedule has taken a back seat. He still, however, enjoys writing and performing stand-up comedy. Whether it be a surprise appearance at a radio station client’s open mic, through regional bookings at comedy clubs or hosting comedy fund raisers and events, Bower still happily keeps his toes in the stand-up comedy community.I am currently looking for new opportunities to entertain the beejeezus out of your radio audience.
