As a cofounder of S2 Systems, I serve as a Solutions Architect and leverage my expertise in cloud-based and open-source technology to design, develop, and implement efficient and cost-effective solutions for clients across various industries. I co-authored, developed and launched SARA MAE, a unique mortgage industry solution that increases accuracy, efficiency, and transparency related to electronic mortgage recording requirements while saving lenders time and money. I also assist clients with their AWS, Azure, microservices and other cloud-based needs and support/optimize PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and MySQL databases installations. My ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies allows me to work with clients on a wide range of technical projects and utilizing various methodologies, including Agile and traditional Project Management styles. As Lead Developer and Senior DBA at Century Mortgage Company, a $5B+ multi-channel mortgage lending provider, I served as the application architect and principal developer in designing a new Loan Origination System (LOS), Online Loan Application, and Customer Web Portal. I gathered business requirements from stakeholders and led a team of 3-5 developers in executing the development vision while managing project timelines. I also implemented various custom LOS enhancements, integrated 40+ RESTful API integrations, and developed a custom internal API framework. Additionally, I designed and implemented a proprietary at-rest Postgres database encryption solution and upgraded a legacy ASP.NET/MSSQL-backed LOS to run on multiple web browsers other than Internet Explorer. I also developed a custom, in-house Document Imaging System utilizing open-source technology, saving the company over $500k in licensing, supplies and maintenance costs.

As a Systems Analyst and Database Developer at BSG Financial, I leveraged my expertise in PostgreSQL to optimize processing of client data for proprietary SaaS applications used by banks and credit unions. I effectively resolved issues with a web-based PHP/PostgreSQL application and collaborated with financial institutions on technical and operational data integration and application enhancements. I also designed and implemented a custom web-based ticket-tracking solution, streamlining and automating the ETL process of incoming client data. I authored technical manuals and provided exceptional customer support, testing, and on-site client travel for sales and support. Proficient in SQL and experienced with both MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases, I wrote complex queries, stored procedures, and custom reports using SSRS, and updated PHP/Postgres application code.

As the Managing Partner of Technology at Romantic Destiny Weddings, played a crucial role in the growth and success of the company by designing and launching a custom MSSQL database-driven e-commerce and social website. The website, developed with ASP, JavaScript, jQuery and API interfaces, resulted in a significant increase in traffic and revenue with a 250% rise in traffic and over 100% increase in revenue compared to the previous year. Additionally, managed all IT systems, infrastructure, and vendor relationships, and designed a custom Access DB-driven customer management system to streamline daily workflow and automate email communications. I also exercised my artistic muscles and served as the principle photographer for beach weddings shooting both film and digital formats.

I began my career as the IT Operator for Cal State 9 CU in January 1998 and quickly advanced to the role of IT Director in April 2001 having also served as the IT Specialist and Systems Analyst. I led the entire IT department of a rapidly growing credit union, working closely with executive management, the board of directors, and key stakeholders to drive technology initiatives that boosted assets from $50M to over $250M in just three years. I managed a team of 4-6 people and was responsible for overseeing the in-house data center, including Windows 2000 Servers, MS Exchange Servers, MS SQL Servers, and HP-MPE/HP-UX systems of record. I designed and implemented high-level business intelligence reports, delivered board-level presentations, and created an annual budget for the IT department. Additionally, I was responsible for all regulatory security and compliance, both physical and virtual, and was involved in the development and implementation of new processes and reports on the primary credit union server. I co-authored a major re-design of the credit union website and brought its hosting in-house, and developed and implemented the credit union’s first-ever web-based home banking and bill payment solution that interfaced directly with the primary credit union server. I also implemented the credit union’s first Intranet which ultimately became a valuable asset, interfacing with the core software and providing imaging capabilities for signature cards, driver's licenses, and other documents.
