How we started.In 2005, Douglas Davidson founded The Brown Buffalo in Burlington, Vermont as a design and consulting firm focused on trend forecasting, innovation, product design, and product development. Over the past 19 years, we’ve specialized in providing a unique perspective in the accessories category to some of the world’s leading brands, including Nike, Apple, Adidas, Yeezy, Burton, Bellroy, HydroFlask, The North Face, and many more. Following Douglas’ own passion for product, he concentrated the firm’s energies on becoming the best backpack and travel-goods design firm in the marketplace.Where we are going.We design and manufacture, purpose built backpacks and accessories under our own brand name in Costa Mesa, California. We also continue to supply product design and manufacturing support to the World's Leading Brands, Military Personnel, Law Enforcement, First Responders, Tier 1 Athletes and Music Artists.

Our program encompasses in-depth instruction on pattern making, sewing techniques, material selection, and bag making principles, culminating in the creation of market totes and backpacks tailored to individual preferences and needs.Our workshop is renowned for introducing participants to advanced industrial sewing techniques, cutting-edge materials, and foundational principles in backpack manufacturing.
