I coach teams to deliver strategy, results, and improvements. With decades in business and the earth sciences, I know the potential impact every decision can have on a business and impart that gravity to the business leaders with whom I work in order to maximise their decision-making and, ultimately, their profits.I started my career as a research scientist and have worked in a range of industries, including mining and smelting in the resources sector, oil refining, and heavy logistics in both trucking and rail. I progressed through several roles in systems design and logistics in both technical advisory and leadership positions.Over more than two decades, I noticed that a common theme in all the businesses is they are made up of people making decisions every day. In my book, Profitable Decision Making, I systematically dismantle the key impediments and distractions that can cripple business leaders in their decision-making process. I have made it my mission to impart the importance of effective decision-making to the business leaders with whom I work in order to maximise their decision-making and, ultimately, their profits. My previous experience includes positions held at Comalco (part of the Rio Tinto group), Caltex, and QR National/Queensland Rail. I hold an MBA from the University of Tasmania and a bachelor’s in metallurgy from the SA Institute of Technology (now Uni SA); I now consult internationally to companies across a range of industries, helping to improve their bottom-line results by providing sustainable solutions to real problems.
