• Selected for a competitive program at Weill Cornell Medical College to gain deeper insights into the field of medicine, including issues that greatly affect the health of traditionally underserved groups• Received training in Human Subjects research and IRB Protocols, basic laboratory safety, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)• Performed clinical research under Dr. Rachel Kowalsky on the topic of race and their use within medical guidelines and decisions; Collected and analyzed the data of ~400 articles.• Participated in a lecture series exploring topics in cardiovascular physiology to understand hypertension and cardiovascular disease, which are major problems in minority communities• Shadowed physicians in the Emergency Department to provide further exposure to the clinical facets of medicine• Volunteered at the Weill Cornell “Heart to Heart” community clinic in which I registered patients with the database, administered questionnaires, and assisted patients in navigating throughout the clinic
