Fraud investigation requires analytical and research skills and the ability to see trends or anomalies. For 20+ years I have been in law enforcement, 5 years of which were spent as a detective who specialized in fraud. In my years of experience, I have found that fraud investigation is like chess, and it is often a matter of patience and strategy.I went into law enforcement to make a difference and help people. I found that my personable communication skills helped me to build relationships and establish rapport with victims, witnesses and suspects to make them feel comfortable enough to share information. When I moved into a role as a detective and then was tasked with being the sole fraud investigator for the Goodyear Police Department, I felt as though the puzzle solving aspect of the role combined with my communication skills were the perfect match. As I prepare to wrap up my law enforcement career, I would like to continue using my intuitive investigative and financial analysis skills. Here are just a few examples of how my experience with the law enforcement side of financial crimes investigations will bring value to an organization:✅ As law enforcement, I can bring the ability to coordinate with law enforcement officials, speak their language and understand the best way to interact with and build relationships of trust and respect with the investigators. As a former investigator, I have an understanding of investigative methods, potential pitfalls and anomalies to look for and knowledge of the laws that govern this area.✅ When I was a detective, I managed up to 60 concurrent cases. I understand how to work on multiple investigations simultaneously, prioritize my efforts based on urgency and maintain accurate detailed documentation, both for prosecution and for the ability to work with other investigators. I am available to start a new career as early as June of 2024 and am ready to use my skills and knowledge as I take my career in a new direction.
