Powertrain Captain
Mcmaster Formula Hybrid Team
Mcmaster University
Collaborated in a team of 45 students to design, simulate, manufacture, test and eventually compete with a formula style open wheel race car with a hybrid powertrain in an international competition. - Design and manufacturing of energy storage system- My responsibilities in the powertrain subteam included collaborating with other subteams to determine optimum packaging of components. - Ran tutorials on engine management systems, as well as engine modification and maintenance- Designing, testing, and manufacturing of pneumatic-hydraulic shifting system. - Routing, and designing low voltage wiring harness. - Custom tune of internal combustion engine for optimum operating parameters. - Selection, and implementation of electric motors for hybrid powertrain. - Designed, and assembled chassis dynamometer in house. All of these were done while adhering to a strict set of rules laid out by the Society of Automotive Engineers, and Good Engineering Practices.
