Advised the Senator on all legislative matters before the U.S. Senate, including in leadership roles on the Senate Commerce Committee and the Senate Armed Services Committee.Managed and mentored a policy legislative team of 13.Liaised for Chairman Wicker to the U.S. Helsinki Commission, advising the Senator on matters pertaining to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Advised the Senator on legislation regarding international trade, foreign affairs, national defense, intelligence, and homeland security.Navigated the federal appropriations process to secure over $1.2 billion for the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF), a Department of Homeland Security state-of-the-art biosecurity level 4 laboratory in Manhattan, Kansas.Founded and organized the very first Senate Marine Corps Caucus, including quarterly meetings with the Commandant of the Marine Corps and other top-level officers.Represented the Senator in negotiations with federal agencies, including the White House, with the goal of stopping the transfer of detainees from Guantanamo Bay to Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, on behalf of constituent interests.Planned and executed a Congressional Delegation trip to Iraq and Kuwait to include visits with Iraqi Prime Minister al-Abadi and Kurdish President Barzani.
