I helped lead the transition of applications and their environment into the IBM network. This complex task required coordination of multiple technical and business teams to align requirements and develop an execution plan. I also designed and developed custom programs to extract and format data from one system, and import it into the IBM equivalent, where needed.I provided tactical leadership and execution during the implementation of user access management policies. I helped research, design and deploy the UAM across Cognos. I have participated in the analysis and remediation of security audits on the Cognos systems.I implemented web 2.0 AJAX enabled mash-ups of technology to further enrich our web sites and customer experience.I continued my 3rd level support but extended my coverage to over 100 applications, across 7 business units

I was on an elite team of application experts within the organization and quickly expanded my skills and influence across company. I was key in the successful implementation of many new corporate systems and undertook a technical leadership role in many of them to enhance and stabilize infrastructure. The goal, eliminate legacy systems and architecture and replace them with modern, scalable, highly available, robust and secure platforms. My role, at times leading multi-disciplinary teams of technology professionals to deliver service over 95 web sites including www.cognos.com, support.cognos.com, partnernetwork.cognos.com and communities.cognos.com. I was the only 3rd level support for over 40 applications, across 5 business units. I led the use of web 2.0 into the application design and development process. I championed communities.cognos.com, an external community for users to collaborate on technical and business issues and develop strategies and solutions.

As the sole individual responsible for second level support of the corporate R&D systems, I resolved help desk tickets dealing with operational issues, designed and development feature enhancements and bug fixes to those systems I supported and worked with a management team helping to formulate tactical decisions on the direction of those same systems. At the same time, I helped to support other corporate applications and increased my knowledge and relationships within the information technology department and environment. I also helped to formulate and document strategies for the implementation of new technologies, like RSS feeds, into the corporate marketing and support spaces.

A partner and I founded this corporation in 2003 to provide technology and business solutions to small and medium businesses. We built the business from the ground up, developing a business plan and marketing strategy. My role in this organization was the Director of Information Technology. I am solely responsible for all of the IT related functions of the business including managing contractors and contracts, RFP submissions, technical infrastructure and server functionality to support over 50 web sites. Ablaze Solutions has over 50 satisfied clients from several different industries and offers professional and reliable service to customers across the country.

I instructed over 4200 hours of college level courses at Heritage College in the Continuing Education branch. These courses included: Microsoft Office 2000, HTML and Web Editors, Web Planning & Marketing, Active Server Pages 3.0, Visual Basic, Java, JavaScript, E-Commerce, Internet Architecture, C, Cold Fusion, PERL & CGI, GUI, SQL, introduction to programming and project management. Most of the students of my students are older than me, some at least twice my age (at the time), and from all walks of life. Based on curricular and ministerial guidelines, I researched and developed the course material that I present. This role has improved my communication skills, I use multiple methods of conveying a single idea with an explanation or concept to help reinforce it. My role also gave me an in depth exposure to the covered material which served to improve my own skills in each of the subject matters. My reviews by faculty, students and administration have all been excellent.

I designed, developed and implemented a web interface for the Canadian hazardous materials tracking system.

I was originally hired to be a web designer for this firm. However, the company was extremely understaffed with Information Technology professionals and consequently I had to expand my role to serve as a multi-lateral IT professional to assist wherever there was a need. I was solely responsible for the operation and development of the corporate web site (www.sisip.com). I also developed applications and technology processes for their insurance and financial planning divisions. My activities helped to expand my skills at communicating technology practices and techniques to a broad range of people. Through my actions I helped to increase visits and hits to the web site by 60%, page views by 65%, and visitors by 50%. The technologies I primarily used were ASP, VBA, VB6, VB.NET, C#, JavaScript, CSS, T-SQL and SQL Server 2000.

E-Learning is something I strongly believe in as it will serve as an agent for levelling the playing field for education delivery world-wide. I built the infrastructure to support a web-based high school. I successfully developed and managed a multi-tier user and learning management system for the delivery of education content. This project involved all stages of the system development life cycle including a feasibility study, defining business and user requirements, information modelling and database architecture, developing source code to support electronic commerce and course delivery, beta testing and deploying the system, and on-going maintenance and monitoring of the project. The development and architecture was developed using Windows 2000 Advanced Server, IIS 5, ASP, T-SQL and SQL Server 2000. The multi-tiered interface Ienables students to take the courses, teachers to create and deliver content and administrators to monitor activity and progress of course delivery.

My role as the liaison between the marketing and I.T. Departments helped me communicate technological implementations in terms the everyone could understand. My work with content and architecture development for the company progressed into designing and developing web based applications and scripts. The applications included an product catalogue, order entry and inventory management system, a market research intelligence gathering engine, an interactive client polling engine, financial data automation, and many registration and data gathering applications. I championed standardization techniques and control measures to ensure the consistency of corporate web and print media which facilitated the delivery and development of client communication. I also provided technical requirements assessments for the development of internal efficiency procedures. I increased traffic from 25,000 page views per month to over 4.5 million page views per month
