Office assistants at SCHC are essentially nurses-in-training for several tasks that they might do in the future with a position in the healthcare industry or at a major hospital.Some tasks involve being able to read a patient's flow chart, understanding and recognizing over a hundred different types of medication, setting up appointments, doing an EKG test, doing a Holter hook-up, understanding basic test results...I was required to know all of aforementioned as I checked patients' eligibility/authorization regarding their health insurance policies. Along with heavy amounts of data-entry into our servers, filing, and dealing with sensitive information, I learned a proficient amount of Cantonese to be able to communicate with the patients at the clinic who predominantly were not able to speak English.

The company Fly Joy launched January of 2014 and I took several initiatives to be a part of its growth in the early stages of market sampling.As a market researcher, my role was to take hundreds of survey results and turn them into statistical data that could be analyzed. That information was then used to directly impact the company's direction in which products to develop or discontinue.
