Welcome to my journey! I'm Eric Reid, a learning and development professional passionate about helping people. Like many, my story is one of ups and downs, triumphs and setbacks, resilience, growth, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, both personally and professionally.My Struggle and ResolveAs a child and into college, I was in great shape. But as my career took off, my activity levels plummeted. My weight slowly increased over time. I reached my heaviest weight in 2020 when I hit 270lbs. At 5'8", that's a lot. I've often felt self-conscious about my appearance, particularly when training or presenting in front of large groups. I have left theme parks feeling embarrassed because I couldn't fit into rides. I'm uncomfortable taking off my shirt at the beach or water park, and trying on clothes has become a project. The strain on my confidence has been a constant reminder of the weight I carry, both physically and emotionally. I've tried every diet and even subscribed to meal delivery services. None provided a sustainable solution for me. This has been a 10 year struggle.I went to the doctor on July 22, 2024. I found out that my health issues have mounted. I need two medications for blood pressure, I have sleep apnea, I'm pre-diabetic, and I suffer from consistent fatigue. That was the tipping point for me. This moment marked a turning point for me, motivating me to make a transformative change for myself and my family.My Goal and MissionI am on a mission to lose 85 pounds over the next year, sharing every step of my journey—the good, the bad, and the ugly. My goal isn't just personal.
