- Led a newly formed DevOps team to migrate the entire legacy infrastructure into AWS- Designed and implemented a Kubernetes based architecture and worked with dozens of teams to migrate their applications to the cloud

- As the senior member of our platform team, architected and developed an internal NodeJS framework (based on Express) that all new applications and APIs are based on. This allows rapid development and deduplication of efforts across multiple development teams in our new services oriented architecture- Worked closely with recruiting and tech leadership to improve our interviewing and hiring process (conducted over 100 interviews)- Helped organize and drive architecture reviews of new (and existing) large scale services

- As a member of our Contributor team, I was responsible for Web and API development and migrating a legacy Perl application into NodeJS. Included both web application development as well as RESTful API development- Contributed to our internal developer tools team to improve our build and deployment system- Started and led a grass roots effort to improve our monitoring and alerting by using industry standard tools- Won an internal hackathon (Dec 2015) for developing a tool to replay legacy API calls against new services (idempotent requests only) and compare their response values and performance.

I am currently working on our PaaS product, OpenShift. I am part of a team that develops our backend orchestration code. Primarily, I work on cartridges (our containers that allow users to build their applications from different web frameworks). I have also developed a daemon that automatically throttles abusive applications using Cgroups. Previously, I worked on developing our web console using Ruby on Rails, HAML, CoffeeScript, and other fun web technologies as well as developing our command line tools (written in Ruby), improving our test coverage.

I work in a lab dedicated to experimenting with and testing cross-domain security devices. I built an extensive virtual infrastructure to simulate classified environments. I have also engineered solutions that leverage these devices for use in operational environments. As part of this lab, I, as part of a small team, developed a JavaScript based XMPP client almost entirely from scratch. This was necessary due to security requirements levied upon us as well as target platform constraints. This was done in a very rapid manner with a very high degree of autonomy, while also receiving and assigning tasks from other teammates whose code interfaced with my own. The engineering of a strong, internal API as well as coding practices and very "outside of the box" thinking contributed to the success of this project. Within approximately six months, we have created a very robust prototype that is beginning operational testing.I have also created an advanced malware analysis framework to combine production network monitoring tools with internal research projects. It leverages many technologies such as AMQP, Squid, and Ruby on Rails in novels ways to fit many different requirements. This technology is being tested and fielded on the production MITRE network and was presented at a computer security conference, Shmoocon 2011.I regularly gave a demonstration of realistic hacking scenarios to a quarterly training program given to newly promoted General Officers for the Army. I have also given the same demonstration to Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Army Core of Engineers (with some customization to make it more applicable to those audiences). This demo consistently receives rave reviews from the participants.I have performed numerous penetration tests and vulnerability assessments for different sponsors. I was primarily responsible for web application testing and have given courses on web application security to sponsors and coworkers.

Worked on the Honeyclient Project. This was a malware detection system developed in Perl. At the time, it was a novel concept that has since spurred numerous commercial endeavors.

Currently working on a account management and computer registration solution using PHP, C, and Java.
