Greg is an illustrator and web designer at heart, with a keen eye for detail and endless patience that makes him an inspiring leader at PlusNarrative. As Chief Design Officer, Greg leads PlusNarrative’s creative engineering studio with candor, humour and empathy. Talented people with ambitions to keep growing are drawn to Greg’s team, where experimentation and ideas are always encouraged.Greg’s love of illustration and graphic design has taken him on a journey of brand building, interface design and customer-centric strategy. He has a passion for balancing functionality with beauty in digital design, pushing the boundaries of technology while ensuring a rock solid user experience. He facilitates design thinking workshops for client partners at PlusNarrative, ensuring there is a purpose behind every design decision, and he has a knack for revealing the elephant in the room when participants aren’t collaborating with full engagement. Greg has brought creative concepts to life for the likes of MTN Group, Mr Price Group, Spar Group, Beiersdorf and many more.Born and raised in Durban (where he swears the best design talent in SA comes from), Greg worked at a range of boutique, craft-centric design agencies, honing his branding and illustration skills amongst talented peers. He then matched his love for technology (and his dislike of print) with design by pursuing a career in what was then called ‘web design’. But it was during his years of freelance that he developed a real hunger for collaboration, facilitating the growth of brands into digital realms. It was at this time that he was the protégé of Durban design legend, Neville Trickett, from whom he learned how to always challenge the client, the idea and yourself (and how to have fun doing it).As someone who is naturally empathetic, Greg has always been motivated to make design a meaningful part of the human experience. Today, Greg inspires his creative team to find meaning in their work and continuously experiment with new tools to create impactful projects. He is probably installing a new design app right now.
