Secured professional management and promotional firm for a $5.0 million renovated 750-seat theatre generating 20,000 visitors annually to downtown, City of Hopewell. 100-acre, 300,000 square feet, $30.0 million John Deere “Gator” utility vehicle assembly plant creating 250 new jobs, City of Williamsburg-James City County. I-95, 300,000 square feet office, twin-tower campus for Capital One, Fredericksburg-Spotsylvania County. $27 million United Kingdom bio-energy company located within Virginia Enterprise Zone creating 80 new jobs, City of Hopewell. $15 million joint commercial loan-tax exempt bond financing for new Kappa Sigma International Fraternity Headquarters, City of Charlottesville-Albemarle County.

GVEDC consists of a staff of four and $1.0 million budget. GVEDC owns, markets and manages a $3.0 million real estate portfolio consisting of six industrial buildings and four industrial parks totaling 275,000 square feet and 250 acres. The following are key project and program successes: Supervised staff restructuring, realignment of responsibilities and new organizational focus. Applied real estate management practices to 275,000 SF of industrial buildings generating within one-year new leases and revenue of $259,000. Managed four new business locations and expansions totaling $61 million capital investment and 325 new jobs. Initiated historic tax credit redevelopment of former high school building in Downtown into boutique hotel totaling $25.0 million, Town of White Sulfur Springs. Received approval for three federal government Opportunity Zones. Managed I-64 location of $45 million state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, the West Virginia Great Barrel Company, Town of White Sulfur Springs. Initiated and developed the first regional strategic economic development plan. Initiated study to analyze the region’s potential to attract the aerospace industry and received national certification as an AEROready region. Established public-private partnership with property owners to plan and develop a 100-acre, I-64 industrial park in Greenbrier County. Leased GVEDC 30,000 square foot shell building after being vacant for 15 years since the construction of the building, Pocahontas County. Partnered with community leaders and Greenbrier Valley Airport Authority to identify new air passenger service and connections to Chicago O’Hare and Washington-Dulles International Airports.
