Sr. Human Factors EngineerPillar Data Systems Nov 2004 - Sep 2008Ca, 95134, UsIn context of a full UCD process, I was tasked with setting the vision and strategy across multiple releases of Pillar storage products. As the UX lead I:• Performed user research collaborating with architects, marketing, and executive management to plan for product requirements and features.• Designed system management web applications for three releases of Pillar’s flagship NAS/SAN appliance the Axiom. This entailed designing hundreds of screens supporting a significant number of extremely complex features across three integrated but distinct applications.• Across all releases conducted 30+ usability tests and informal walk-throughs with system administrators, current customers, and company sales engineers.• Addressed input from all walk-throughs and usability tests via iterative UI design changes. Tracked and addressed usability defects with development teams.• Managed a small team in development of a 100+ screen high fidelity VB.Net prototype.Pillar was acquired by Oracle in 2011 and currently sells the Axiom. -
