After joining Appcelerator as part of the acquisition of Nodeable, I was part of a team that adapted the Nodeable product to replace an existing batch reporting tool with a real-time streaming analytics system for mobile app events. The system and API I built was a core offering of a suite of enterprise services offered by Appcelerator as it shifted its strategy from focusing on individual developers to enterprise sales.Achievements:- Successfully adapted, built, and released the new real-time analytics system in under 6 months after joining. I was directly responsible for adapting parts of the previous Nodeable product to using Apache Camel for message routing, RabbitMQ and AMQP for messaging, and writing significant parts of the API.- The system was able to maintain 100% uptime during extremely large spikes of traffic that occurred within an initial product push.- As the scope and the scale required of the system grew, I helped transition the reporting API and backend storage to be based on Elasticsearch and away from MongoDB, and introduced Redis as a general purpose cache.
