Successfully implemented a modified Incident Command System to dramatically improve maintenance closure effectiveness. Implemented Upkeep, a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for use at the facility.I partnered with the Aquatics Program Coordinator to provide direction and training to the facilities head lifeguards. I was heavily involved with monitoring, analyzing and projecting expenditures at the aquatic center. I served on the Park and Recreation departments Safety Committee. I oversaw the building management system which controls the buildings 6 air handling units, various exhaust fans and cooling units, pool lighting controls, hot water boilers, pool heaters and pool pump VFDs.I also operated the city's riverfront fountain mechanical systems and play features. I was on the City's Management Team working to improve the lives of all the citizens of Toledo. My biggest accomplishment was to help shift the conversation about the Pool from when will the pool close, to how to keep the facility open. I also dramatically stabilized internal operations.I served on the City Continuity of Operations Planning Team (COOP). As part of this project I was actively involved with the City's evaluation, selection and implementation of a City Wide IP based Phone System. In 2011, I started working with other department managers to address the needs of our City's ageing facilities. After years of neglect, initial estimates through a Building Facility Plan (2012, Civil West Engineering) identified approximately $500,000 of critical maintenance needs and approximately $2.4 Million in total deficiencies for our swimming pool facility. I then coordinated an additional study of what it would take to rehabilitate the specific building deficiencies to prolong the useful life of the facility. I was the staff representative for the Toledo Parks and Recreational Advisory Committee. I also was the City Safety and Wellness Committee Chair for two years.-In July 2013 my position was reclassified from Aquatics/Recreation Manager to Aquatics/Recreation Director to better align with duties performed and evolution of department growth. Worked closely with the member elected board of directors to grow membership and enhance athlete performance and retention.-Led the team to be awarded the most improved team in Inland Empire Swimming for the Long Course 2009 Season based on the USA Swimming Virtual Club Championship Point System.

Assisted with all aspects of the operation of a multi-pool aquatic facility. Areas of focus included facility mechanical operations, swimming lesson program, customer service and special events. Developed and implemented the La Grande Sprint Triathlon (2008, 2009 and 2010). I grew this event from inception to over 100 participants in the third year.

Over a 5 year period progressed from an entry level lifeguard and swimming instructor to overseeing evening programs at the facility. Served as the program coordinator for the evening public learn-to-swim program. Did extensive work in daily pool operation tasks (chemical monitoring and adjustment, back washing filters, routine maintenance tasks).For a brief time served as an assistant coach with the District's USA Swimming Team working with Novice Swimmers.
