I was the GPM for Windows Inbox Apps and Essential Experiences as we brought many Customer Delighters to the retail audience in Paint, Snipping Tool, and Notepad. I managed a team of PM Managers and Engineering Managers as we built the essential apps that come with Windows (in addition to Notepad, Paint, and Snipping Tool), Media Player, Sound Recorder, and others including the open source repo for Calculator. In addition, I owned the relationships with other teams across the company to help them ship their apps preinstalled. This role evolved into a focus on Windows Copilot Plugins, where I worked across the company to help teams build plugins that would drive customer engagement in Copilot as well as 1P Apps.We shipped:- Paint Features: Layers, Cocreator (image generation)- Snipping Tool: Screen Recorder, OCR capabilities- Notepad: Tabs, Autosave, Rewrite/Summarize with AII also pride myself on having a focus on Accessiblity and the opportunity that AI provides us from an Accessibility Tooling perspective. Most recently, the team went through a re-org and I am now the GPM responsible for evolving our AI strategy with Windows Copilot in partnership with Recall, Inbox Apps, the Office organization, as well as other teams across Windows.

Managing a team of engineers as we build the Developer Experience for Microsoft Edge. We are currently working on Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) and expanding the web platform so that web sites can be as rich an experience as native apps. I love meeting with customers to discuss their requirements in order to prioritize our features. Most of this work goes to Chromium, so I have to work closely with Google to get changes merged. Working in a complementary role with such a passionate competitor has been really exciting and challenging. I'm constantly learning, and I love it.Recruiting for the team. I've recruited Partner software managers, Leads of all levels, and ICs. I have strong rentention. Interviewing candidates is a lot of fun, but more importantly, I like training new employees on how best to interview. I created an interview training that enabled people to sit-in on a series of real interviews and provide mock feedback. We'd workshop the feedback as a group and help everyone get better. Working with Open Source and internal tools to build a data pipeline that allows us to see how our customers are using our tools. We also work on platform predictability and Browser testing via WebDriver with the W3C and other tech leaders.Some of my favorite parts of the day are when I get to meet engineers from Google or Mozilla to discuss web standards and testing those standards. I work closely with engineers within and without Microsoft to ensure we all have the same understanding of features (even if we might not have the same priority).

The browser on Windows is used by hundreds of millions of people every single day. I work on our standards compliance, interoperability, and developer story. The Web Platform is used by Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge to render web pages, but it is also used by the App platform for all Windows apps that host web content. My team writes tests in HTML and JavaScript as well as Python to make sure that changes we make do not break web sites or apps that have shipped. We use C# and C++ to make all of our testing automation stable and reliable. And we write tests to help validate that the Standards coming out of the W3C are implementable and correct.• Lead a team of between 4 and 8 Software Engineers as well as a virtual team of over 100 engineers to ship Internet Explorer 9, 10, 11 and Microsoft Edge• Participated in daily bug triage for three teams to ensure a consistent approach was taken for all bugs reviewed.• Helped drive change across the organization for interviewing best practices, work-life balance, morale, and overall team cohesion.• Shipped HTML5 forms, iframes async, history, and the Sandbox. In addition, we shipped CSS3 features for Media Queries, Backgrounds and Borders, Gradients, Flexbox, Grid Layout, Multi-Col, and Regions.After shipping those features in Trident, I was asked to Lead the team delivering the new Developer Tools for the IE 11 release in Windows 8.1.• Worked with other Microsoft divisions, such as the Developer Division and Office, to ship world class developer tools for both IE and Visual Studio.• Drove root cause analysis across the entire organization to optimize time Developers spent on bugs. • Delivered the first iteration of "WebDriver" as part of the IE Developer Channel.• Worked with the Bing team to leverage their crawler to find bugs at scale.Most recently, my team has been building data visualizations to help drive change back into the product based on customer feedback and experiences.

I was the Lead Engineer for a team of 5 Test Engineers as we delivered several web parts as well as page editing tools for SharePoint. We leveraged XSLT and XML technologies to build a highly dynamic and effective automation system. And I worked with other teams across the Office organization to determine risk and reward for fixing bugs as we locked down to shipping.• Created a virtual team of 5 SDETs, 4 SDEs, and 1 PM to develop SharePoint Web Applications designed to ship 'out of band' from Office and deliver on the 'want-get' gap in SharePoint.• Built the "Create" experience in Silverlight, so that all new SharePoint content on a server would be created via a Silverlight control.• Built two different data visualization web parts to help people create rich representations of SharePoint data using simple charts.• Wrote a book through Microsoft Press as a Step-By-Step for building Web Applications using SharePoint Designer.• Recorded a number of training videos for SharePoint Development.In Parallel, I was asked to be the Intern Coordinator for the entire Office Intern program, where I worked with Developer and Program Manager peers to coordinate all of the summer activties for 130 interns.• Went on recruiting trips around the country to help interview and then sell recruits for Microsoft.• Designed a training program to help grow employees into strong interviewers.• Built a web site where employees could submit and critique technical interview questions to help determine what a 'hire' or 'no-hire' decision would look like for the different questions.

Wrote a book describing how to build Web Applications using SharePoint and SharePoint Designer.

As part of a very small startup, I have owned the planning and execution of all testing for apps on iOS for IPhone and IPad.Shipped an app for List Management that can be used by a wide range of customers: from families going shopping to restaurant owners managing inventory.Created the database and front-end interface for bug management in Azure.Shipped the Point of Sale software used in local restaurants for orders and inventory.

I had the opportunity to record training materials teaching SharePoint applications development.

Began my Testing career on FrontPage themes and other site design features, but then moved to the DataView and Data Visualization team where I tested the WYSIWYG XSLT Editor for SharePoint. This editor was the first of it's kind: allowing users to use an interactive design surface typically used to generate HTML to instead generate XLST to render XML data sources. In addition, I owned testing the backend, where the conversion was done from SharePoint List, Document Library, or InfoPath Form into XML that could be consumed by the Data View.• Created a test infrastructure in XML, C#, and XSLT to dynamically test web parts.• Established myself as one of the top testers in Office.I independently built a process for Integration testing that promoted early and consistent testing practices to find integration and security bugs earlier in the product cycle.• Encouraged employees to 'buddy test' features in order to creatively attack an end-user scenario. • Mapped full product end-user scenarios to smaller feature level scenarios, allowing testers to combine their features into a broader understanding of customer usage.• Owned all security testing including Fuzzing techniques across the design surface for SharePoint pages.After that, I moved to the team owning integration between the Design Surface of SharePoint Designer and the Code Editor tools. This integration was challenging because we had to enable beginning user scenarios in WYSIWYG, as well as very complex web developer scenarios.• Worked with Developer Division to modify Visual Studio to consume the design surface and code editor in order to have a consistent web design experience across Microsoft.• Enabled a seamless workflow from Expression Web to design a SharePoint site, Visual Studio to build asp.net backend objects or web parts, and SharePoint Designer to integrate the components together.• Eliminated inconsistencies in the different design surfaces.

Worked phone support, talking directly with customers who were experiencing issues with FrontPage or FrontPage Server Extensions. Wrote KB articles to communicate known issues or work-arounds for issues that had 5 or more support reports associated with them.
