Supported virtualized workloads on hybrid cloud environments spanning 4 geographical sites. Established AWS governance principles throughout the department by evaluating public cloud environments, presenting findings to key stakeholders and creating execution plans to implement changes. Improved security monitoring of AWS environments by implementing Lambda serverless functions to notify on changes to security groups and devised automation to backup Linux/ Windows system logs to AWS S3 buckets for auditing purposes. Reduced the time engineers spent on cleaning up disk space, which helped in improving product release timeframes as well as cutting budget costs by $2K per quarter on wasteful disk space by developing scripts to resize NFS disks and sending notifications with disk usage reports to engineers across multiple Intel engineering sites. Administered the infrastructure budget for the team and lowered quarterly costs from $2M to $400K through general optimization of the environment. Served as a liaison to external companies Intel collaborated with and developed solutions for better integration with internal engineering teams. Organized large efforts involving different operation teams at Intel and beyond, which included upgrading the network infrastructure to an external company from VPN to T1 lines as well as pocket network enablement.
