I am a facilitator, trainer and mentor who loves bringing out the best in people and teams and compassionately helping people face and overcome the unconscious blockages that hold us back individually and collectively from being the best we can be. Often these blockages come from painful experiences in our past.I'm currently Lead Trainer and Facilitator for Initiatives of Change in Australia, an organisation that won the prestigious UN Intercultural Innovation Award in 2021. I'm also an accredited Talent Dynamics performance consultant.I have 25 years international experience leading trustbuilding and conflict resolution courses with politicians, police, former combatants, multicultural and ethnic organizations. For 10 years in the 1990s I ran courses in Eastern Europe focusing on trustbuilding and principle-centred leadership. Since moving to Melbourne in 2002 I have worked on issues around multiculturalism, including programmes with the Islamic Council of Victoria, and conflict resolution work in Solomon Islands with former militia commanders and with police. In difficult times we either pull together or pull apart. Managers spend between 25-60% of their time dealing with conflict. Employees spend, on average, over 2 hours per week in conflict. Behind these statistics are people feeling unvalued, misunderstood, angry and resentful. This has a massive knock-on effect on team performance and interactions with customers and suppliers.It doesn't have to be that way. Trust can be restored remarkably quickly. I have developed my own methodology as well as incorporating best practice methods from others. As Stephen MR Covey says: Trust is the one thing that changes everything. It is the difference between a bunch of workers in a communist factory and a Formula 1 racing team. I do what I do because I believe that by building better relationships we build a better world.
