I am a web/software developer looking for opportunities to increase my experience and skills while making an impact. I fell in love with computer programming in college and have gained a deep appreciation for even the less "glamorous" (but utterly essential) aspects, such as testing and documentation. My recent position as a Digital Scholarship Specialist gave me experience in all aspects of the software development cycle, primarily focused on website development in PHP, JavaScript, and Python, as well as the chance to work directly with faculty, students, and staff on a wide variety of projects. While I loved both the coding and being a part of research and education, after four years of working at the University of Oklahoma I relocated to California to help care for my aging grandparents. During this time I created a small weekly scheduler using React/Next with a MySQL database to help with scheduling their medications. Now that my grandmother is more stable and I have had the chance to rest and reflect on my career goals, I’m excited to reenter the workplace in a job where I can make a difference.My ideal job would be working for a university to support research and instruction in some capacity by writing code, working with data, or otherwise putting my skills to use. I have a wide variety of interests when it comes to technology and love learning new languages, techniques, and applications.
